Who We Are
Guideposts exists to provide services to meet individual needs so that each person has the opportunity to fulfil their aspirations and maximise their potential. We seek to achieve excellence in our work and lead the way in researching, delivering and disseminating good practice.
Our vision is of a society where all people are valued and have equality of opportunity.
Guideposts Trust has been delivering high-quality direct services for 40 years. We aim to provide services to help all people lead independent lives. We work with people who have mental health issues, dementia, learning disabilities, physical impairments, and their carers and families, to help them make the best possible choices for quality care services. Your needs and wishes are at the heart of what Guideposts does. This means putting you first. We listen carefully to you to provide the best care, advice and information possible.
In all our work we start from the viewpoint that every person is deserving of dignity and choice.
Working locally, making a difference nationally
Guideposts Trust is involved at national level, through a number of projects and firmly based in our many communities with the creditable support of dedicated teams of staff and volunteers.
Our work is carried out across a large part of England, with regional offices in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Suffolk and Essex.
Guideposts Trust is an independent registered charity (272619)
In some cases our projects aim to help people to live more independent lives. In all cases we aim to reduce social exclusion and isolation and promote equal opportunities, well-being and quality of life for all our service users.
We aim to be a practical and innovative organisation, working to develop new models and approaches to care that can serve as examples for others to follow. This means that we work in partnership with Local Authorities, other Voluntary Organisations and similar groups to identify and fill the most urgent needs and to share experience gained as widely as possible. We are proud of the progress and difference we have made for the past 40 years
