DISC- Dementia Information Service for Carers
This is an information service specifically for carers in Warwickshire.
DISC can help by giving advice and information on a range of topics including:
- Information about dementia such as what it is and its effects
- Helping to find the right Care Services that can support you and the person you care for
- Financial implications such as the cost of care and how to help someone manage their money, lasting power of attorney and decisions about care
- Discussing your options with care homes, voluntary organisations, social and health care services
- Your rights as a carer and your rights as a working carer
- How to maintain family relationships with the person with dementia, how to communicate and enjoy your time together and how to keep their social life as active as possible.
