Interact Training Service

In Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire, Guideposts has developed a training program specifically designed to help people with learning difficulties tackle issues around relationship and sexual awareness.

With estimates that up to a third of people with learning difficulties may have experienced abuse, this project plays a vital role in the protection of individuals from unwanted advances.

Interact tackles issues such as behaviour, how to act appropriately in public and private, boundaries and personal relationships. These areas of knowledge and understanding are vital for each of us; however, they are often completely ignored for people with learning difficulties.

So important is Guideposts work in this area that the charity has been consulted on running a national conference to highlight the issues and the training that Guideposts offers.
