Outreach Services

Guideposts outreach services provide support to people with mental health problems who are spread around South West Herts by:

• taking part in social activities and group outings
• building self confidence and esteem
• encouraging people to get involved in local opportunities for study, voluntary work etc.
• raising awareness of mental health issues in the group and the wider community
• developing interpersonal skills, communication, assertiveness and social skills, which helps build self-respect and respect for others
• supporting individuals in times of crisis

There are outreach groups which meet weekly and have outings in addition to these regular meetings. These are at Rickmansworth (Tuesday afternoons, outings on Thursday); Borehamwood (Friday afternoons, outings on Tuesdays) and Potters Bar (Wednesday afternoons, outings as arranged).

All client referrals are through the CMHT Teams and we work closely with statutory services to fit into a network of support for clients.
