RAFFLE drawn 15 April 2013

The lucky winner of £5,000 was Mr. Shepherd of Lancashire, winning ticket number 161271-027, cheque number 200230.

We managed to contact 77 year old Mr. Shepherd this morning and inform him of his win.  He was over the moon, saying it was the first time he had ever won a raffle.  When asked how he would be spending the money he said that every year he goes on holiday to St. Ives in Cornwall, and that this year will be his 35th trip there.  Last year he decided to go by train as he didn’t fancy the 7.5 hour drive, and we suggested that this year he could perhaps travel First Class!

The second prize winner of £500 was Linda Burkinshaw of South Yorkshire with ticket number478475 – 011

The first prize winner of £5,000 is Mrs Wilsher of Gwent, ticket number 953114-013

Mrs Wilsher has some minor health problems and so said that winning the jackpot prize “really brightened her day!”

The second prize winner of £500 is Miss Shelton of London, ticket number 684543-083

Miss Shelton is housebound, with no family and so relies a lot on help from friends. She said she ”was absolutely thrilled to win” and is looking forward to using the money to spoil her friends as a thank you for all they do for her.
