Help at Home Service

Help at Home is a Home Support Service launched by Guideposts which aims to help older people live independently at home by offering them the support and care they need.

The service is perfect for people leaving hospital, single older people, people with learning disabilities and carers.

It enables them to stay in their own homes and maintain their independence, by providing practical assistance with daily living, such as light housework, laundry, shopping, pension collection and friendship. It can also help people who need help with appointments or who require day and night sitting.

Judith suffers from a long-term debilitating illness and needs help to live independently at home.

“Having Freya come into my home twice a week is marvellous and I really enjoy her company when she is with me. She always has a happy face and she makes my day. Going out shopping with her gives me the opportunity to get out and meet people.  I can attend to my business which lets me have the freedom and independence that I would otherwise not have since my illness has worsened.”
