Older People Services

Guideposts offers a range of services to support older people to live independently at home by offering them practical and personal care and advice.

Help at Home is a service that offers people the support and care they need to remain within the familiarity and comfort of home, and maintain their independence. Offering unrivalled continuity and level of support, Help at Home offers respite care, practical assistance, personal care, companionship and housekeeping, balancing independent living with specific care needs.  The service is perfect for people leaving hospital, single older people and their carers or anyone who is finding it harder to cope at home.

Dig N’Grow is a gardening project to encourage all groups of people to enjoy the experience of working individually or within a group, learning and sharing gardening skills.  It offers the opportunity to be outside in the fresh air working alongside professional gardeners, giving a safe and secure environment to explore.  Carers/families can be happy knowing that their loved ones are safe and having fun, keeping mobile and enjoying the outdoors (or the greenhouses).

Service users’ needs and wishes are at the heart of what Guideposts does. We take a person-centred approach to all our work. This means putting the people we support first. We listen carefully and constantly to our service users, their families and carers [hyperlink to Carer support pages], so we provide the best care, advice and information possible. In all cases we aim to reduce social exclusion and isolation and promote equal opportunities, wellbeing and quality of life for all our service users.
