Music Therapy – Guideposts Trust has developed an innovative Music Therapy Service for people living with dementia, their relatives and carers. The service is staffed by qualified music therapists. Music Therapy is creative in approach, using music to form a therapeutic relationship with emotional and developmental aims. Music used in this way can reach deeply into a person’s feelings, addressing difficulties and helping to meet psychological needs. Sessions can be on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
