TV Winner!

November 21st, 2011 by adminLouise

The lucky winner of the Guideposts Rugby Balloon Release is  Stephanie Looney from Rugby.  Her balloon had flown all the way to Skegness!  Julie Short from Grantham found the balloon.

Stephanie is delighted with her new TV – she’s just moved from a small flat to a house – so has plenty of room for a bigger TV!  Her friends used to laugh at the tiny size of her old TV, so this 32 inch screen should keep them quiet!

Balloon Release – Rugby – 4 September

August 22nd, 2011 by adminLouise

Guideposts Trust, a national charity with offices in Rugby and Nuneaton, will be holding a fun event on Sunday 4 September, at Caldecott Park in Rugby.

Bring a picnic along from 2pm and join in the fun and watch the spectacular balloon release at 4pm!  The balloon that flies the furthest from Rugby will win its ticket-holder a fabulous 32” Sony Bravia widescreen LCD TV!  Tickets cost just £1.00 and are available from our office at 44 Regent Street, Rugby CV21 2PS or calling 01993 849409 – or better still join us on the day!

Guideposts Trust offices in Rugby support people with dementia and their carers, through the Dementia Information Service for Carers.  Currently, in Rugby there are 1100 people with dementia, with this figure set to rise to 1600 by 2020. In Warwickshire as a whole, over 6700 people have this debilitating disease, which by 2020 will affect over 9300 people.  This means that a lot more people will become carers of people with dementia.  The support of a service like DISC will be crucial in making sure carers have access to all the information, advice and support they need.

DISC can help by giving advice and information on a range of topics including:

Telephone Helpline 0845 4379901

Guideposts Trust also runs Dementiaweb a new site all about dementia.  There is access to factsheets, products to make life safer and more comfortable and lots of valuable information to support you and your loved ones .  All the advice and support you need is just a mouse-click away. www.dementiawebwarwickshire.org.uk

By coming along on Sunday 4 September you’ll be supporting us to support carers to support the people they care for.

We look forward to welcoming you there!
