Call into our wonderful Aladdin’s Cave on Tewkesbury High Street for a great selection of quality clothes, books, CDs, homeware and more donated by our supporters and sorted and displayed by our team of fantastic volunteers.  Come and see us at 33 High Street, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 5BB or give us a call on 01684 292030 where our shop Manager, Wendy, or one of her fabulous, friendly team of volunteers will be delighted to assist!

We’re also on eBay and if you are an eBay seller you can donate a percentage of your sale proceeds to us!

Donate goods to Guideposts’ shop! One sack of donated good quality second hand clothing will raise about £50 for Guideposts which goes which goes directly to our dementia services in Gloucestershire so the money you give us by buying goods stays absolutely local, helping people in our community to lead more independent lives.

Having a clear out? Remember we always need good quality used goods; particularly clothes, CDs and books. You can also donate household goods [examples, ask Wendy]. Sorry we can’t take furniture or white goods—the shop simply isn’t big enough to fit them all in!

Did you know that by donating your good to the charity shop, you’re also helping the environment? Like many charity shops, ours are recycling hubs for your community. We sort donated goods into stock that we can sell and those that we can’t are sold on for reprocessing. This often provides quality garments for people in Africa and other developing countries, who cannot afford new clothes.

It is estimated that the charity shop sector re-uses or recycles well over 250,000 tonnes of textiles each year, representing 30% of the total volume of textiles being recycled in the UK*. (statistic from Association of Charity Shops, 2010)

We can offer a collection service by arrangement but it’s kinder to us and the environment if you can drop them in on your way past! Call 01634 292030 if you need to discuss the possibility of collection

“My times in the shop are always interesting, meeting the general public is the most important part of the work and over the years I have got to know many of our regular customers.

Behind the scenes is always an active place – the back room as it is known is where the sorting is done and this to me is an amazing part of my shift, you never know what has been donated and believe me we have had some weird and wonderful items among the everyday things we receive!

I really enjoy being a volunteer and working with like-minded people;  I know we help those who need assistance from the support teams at Guideposts Trust .” (Pamela, Volunteer)
